Our programs
Four pillars, one integrated rehabilitation strategy.
Each programme stream is powerful on its own. Together, they create safer, more resilient communities where people can choose to stay, not flee.
Food security & income recovery
When a family cannot meet basic food needs, every other decision is distorted. We stabilise households at risk of negative coping strategies and irregular migration by ensuring predictable access to food and jump-starting income generation.
- Emergency food baskets or vouchers for the most vulnerable households
- Cash transfers linked to household recovery plans
- Farmer input support (seeds, tools, small-scale irrigation)
- Support to local traders, artisans, and microenterprises to restart income streams
Program designs are tailored to local markets and aligned with national social protection systems wherever possible.
Education & skills for children and youth
We support children to stay in school and help young people transition into dignified work - closing the gap between aspiration and opportunity that often fuels migration intent.
- Back-to-school campaigns, uniforms, and learning materials for children from vulnerable households
- Remedial and bridging classes for those who have missed schooling
- Vocational and digital skills training linked to local labour demand
- Apprenticeship and mentorship programmes with local businesses
Special attention is given to adolescent girls, out-of-school youth, and returnees from failed migration attempts.
Basic health, WASH & community protection
Poor health, unsafe water, and insecurity can push families into impossible choices. We work with communities to improve essential services and protection mechanisms.
- Linking vulnerable households with primary healthcare and community health volunteers
- Rehabilitation of water points, support for household water treatment and safe sanitation
- Protection case management and referral pathways for survivors of violence and at-risk children
- Community awareness on rights, safety, psychosocial well-being, and positive coping
All interventions are underpinned by strong safeguarding, do-no-harm principles, and participation of women and youth.
Migration prevention & community resilience
Irregular migration is often a symptom of deeper community breakdown. We address the root causes by rehabilitating the social and economic fabric of communities so that staying becomes a viable, dignified choice.
- Integrated community rehabilitation combining livelihoods, education, and protection support
- Youth opportunity hubs offering skills training, mentorship, and entrepreneurship support
- Safe migration awareness campaigns highlighting risks and legal pathways
- Returnee reintegration support including psychosocial care and economic restart packages
Our approach recognizes that migration should be a choice driven by aspiration, not desperation. We work to restore hope and opportunity at home.
Protection, gender equality & localisation
Across all our pillars, we mainstream protection, gender equality, and localisation, ensuring that interventions reduce risks and inequalities.
- Gender and protection analysis integrated into programme design
- Participation of women, youth, and marginalised groups in decision-making bodies
- Feedback and complaints mechanisms accessible in every project location
- Partnerships with local organisations and leaders to strengthen community ownership
